If you have an abundance of children at these meals, it's a great idea to slipcover everything for easy washing (and I also think there is something very comforting about them).

On the back of the slipcovers I have monogrammed the family initial. My husband Andrew is very helpful and talented, and made me the plinth in the photograph in which I placed the pumpkins and candles. It seems to be a fitting vessel for an Autumn display.
