My parents got a lot of pleasure from planting these olive trees. They are abundant and in many ways romantic - I love the idea of harvesting from trees you've grown yourself as it evokes a special feeling.
Finishing touches
A two-tier pewter stand is ideal for a simple, seasonal display with the additional touch of olive leaves.
In keeping with the setting, I chose a more rustic look with the china and the lanterns. Apples placed in a basket seem perfect during harvest months as they represent the generosity of the season.
- Why not think about giving the host a large container of seasonal fruit such as apples? Choose a pretty basket or container, tie with a ribbon and attach a card. Throw a few seasonal leaves in there and it looks as if you grew them yourself.
